Details

This knit bandana is a quick and satisfying project that’s perfect when you want to make something pretty, wearable, and useful without committing to a larger project. It’s small enough to take with you on the go, and because it uses sport weight yarn, it’s still comfortable to knit during the warmer months.

The triangle-shaped bandana scarf is knit flat in rows, starting with just three stitches and gradually increasing to create the shape. A small lace detail along the edges adds just enough interest to make the finished bandana look next level, without making the pattern feel overwhelming.

You can wear this knit bandana in your hair, tied around your neck, or tucked into your bag as a cute handmade accessory. It’s also a great project for using a special skein of yarn, and once you make one, you may find yourself wanting to cast on another in a different colour.

Materials

You will need the following materials to knit one bandana:

  • One skein of Knit Picks Comfy Sport Weight Yarn, or approximately 136 yards of sport weight yarn
    • Fiber content: 75% Pima cotton, 25% Acrylic
    • Colours shown in photos are Ivory and Cashew
  • Size 6 (4 mm) knitting needles
    • Either 14" straight needles or circular needles with a 32" cord
  • Scissors
  • Tapestry/yarn needle for weaving in ends

Measurements

Finished bandana measures approximately 28" wide and 14" deep after blocking.
